Standard Port Forwarding For Small Business Server

SBS 2003

For SBS 2003, the following ports should be opened to the Internet, or forwarded through from the router / hardware firewall:

443 - HTTPS for Remote Web Workplace and Exchange
80 - (optional) allows redirect to work to HTTPS
444 - CompanyWeb (Sharepoint) when accessed remotely
4125 - Remote Web Workplace RDP gateway

SBS 2008 & 2011

For SBS 2008 and SBS 2011, the following are needed:

443 - HTTPS for Remote Web Workplace and Exchange
80 - (optional) allows redirect to work to HTTPS
987 - CompanyWeb (Sharepoint) when accessed remotely

If you want to feed email directly to the SBS server using SMTP, perhaps from a spam filtering service or similar, then port 25 also needs to be open in addition - but take care to authorise only sending server IP addresses that need to be authorised.
