Access 2003 Removing Unsafe Expressions Warning

Removing 'Unsafe expressions are blocked' messages in Access 2003 is often required when an application has been developed for you in Microsoft Access. It is a security feature, introduced by Microsoft to reduce the risk of virus or malware infection and works by preventing any code that could potentially be malicious from running. Microsoft took a bit of a sledgehammer approach with this though in Access 2003, and it results in almost every case needing to turn the facility off again in order for critical application code to run properly.

How To

1) Start Microsoft Access and go to Tools / Macro / Security menu:

2) Take option 'Low' as per below. The dire warnings can usually be ignored providing, as it says, you have good anti-virus protection in place and you know the source of all Access databases you open. As always - NEVER open any file, including any Access database file, that you cannot verify is from a trusted source.
